Sustainability

"True sustainability starts with transparency and measurable data. Because without data, greenwashing lurks."

To become a Kyndly seller, brands must meet strict sustainability criteria. We select only brands that consciously choose environmentally friendly materials, fair production processes, and transparent supply chains. We estimate the impact of products based on the PEF standard developed by the European Commission and ISO 14067 for COâ‚‚ emissions.

In concrete terms, this means that we look at:

  • The origin of raw materials, down to the seed.

  • The entire production chain, production locations (including transport between locations ) and production methods.

  • Total COâ‚‚ emissions, land, water and energy use.

  • Packaging materials.

  • End of life (is the product biodegradable, is the packaging recyclable).

  • Certifications, such as Fair Trade, Vegan Friendly.

Code of Conduct

Besides the 'hard' figures, we also look at things like fair wages, safe working conditions, ensuring there is no slavery involved, and that no animals suffer pain during the production of the products we sell.
Every seller signs a code of conduct in which they promise to adhere to it.

No modern slavery

Brands that join Kyndly intend to keep their supply chain free from forced or child labor, and actively work towards safe working conditions and fair wages.

No animal cruelty

Our partners are consciously committed to preventing animal suffering, for example by not testing on animals and choosing animal-friendly or plant-based alternatives.

No harsh chemicals

Brands at Kyndly avoid harmful chemicals and work with safe, environmentally friendly ingredients and production processes.

Our contribution

At Kyndly, we believe that shopping can also do good. That’s why we only select brands that make a real difference — for the planet, for people, and for the future. As a non-profit marketplace, we donate 100% of our profits to organizations that are committed to nature conservation, biodiversity, and a liveable world.

To ensure transparency, we work together with Green Story. Thanks to their independent impact calculations, you can see exactly what your choice means for each product: from COâ‚‚ savings to water consumption and fair production.

Our mission is clear: more truth, more good.

How does it work?

The Green Story methodology (Life Cycle Assessment) helps us to quantify and show the impact of our products in a powerful, accurate and recognizable way. Kyndly uses a baseline assessment (using secondary data) in this phase, in the future we want to move towards primary data so that the measurements are even more accurate.

After a purchase at Kyndly, you will receive an email from us with a link to the offset project we are currently participating in. Through this link, you can follow this project in real time with satellite images, among other things. This way, your purchase is truly CO2 neutral.

Offsetting our emissions is achieved through various projects carefully selected by Green Story and called 'Simplizero Ecommerce'. This process helps you to make your purchases carbon neutral and takes you on our sustainability journey - from awareness and consideration to purchase and aftersales. Read more at www.greenstory.io

After covering our costs and paying our team fair wages, we donate 100% of what remains to selected charities. Read more on our Charities page. You will also receive a monthly overview of this so you can see where your contribution went !

Laurens van Oers, Founder and CEO

"We live in a world where everything revolves around more: more profit, more production, more consumption. But that hunger for growth leaves deep traces — on people's lives, ecosystems, entire communities. Kyndly is our answer to that system: a non-profit where honesty, transparency and respect for life come first."
